Corn Potato Patties Recipe in less oil

A perfect recipe for rainy day or any tea time snacks.

SERVING : 5-6

PREPARATION TIME : 15 minutes 

COOKING TIME : 10 minutes


INGREDIENTS :

  • Boiled mashed potatoes - 2 cups
  • Sooji / semolina - 1 cup
  • Boiled corn - 1 cup
  • Cheese - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves - 1 cup chopped
  • Salt as per taste
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Chat masala -  1 tsp
  • Red chili flakes - 1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoon 


PROCEDURE : 

  1. In a mixing bowl add potatoes, sooji, red chili flakes and half of salt. Mix well everything
  2. Gradually add water and make soft ball like dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes. 
  3. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil on medium flame in a pan. Add corn and spices and fry for 10 - 15 seconds. Turn off the flame. 
  4. Add chat masala and coriander leaves. Mix well. Transfer to a plate and let it cool completely.
  5. Add cheese and mix well.
  6. Take a ball size dough and flatted to a disc. Fill with 1 tablespoon of corn mixture and close it. Seal from all sides and flatten a bit.
  7. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a pan. Shallow fry patties from both sides till light brown and crispy. Transfer to a plate.
  8. Corn Potato Patties are ready to serve.
