Potato Cabbage Fry Recipe

INGREDIENTS :

  • Cabbage - 2 cups shredded
  • Potatoes  - 2 medium cubed
  • Tomatoes - 2 sliced
  • Garlic - 1 tbsp chopped
  • Green chillies - 1 tbsp chopped
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds -1 tsp
  • Nigella seeds - 1 tsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Olive oil - 1 tbsp

PROCEDURE : 

  1. In a pan add olive oil and heat on medium flame.
  2. Add asafoetida, fenugreek seeds, nigella seeds and fennel seeds.Fry for 10 seconds.
  3. Add chopped garlic and green chilies. Fry till garlic turns brown.
  4. Add potatoes and fry for 30 seconds.
  5. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder. Fry for 10 -15 seconds on medium flame.
  6. Add tomatoes and fry till they soften a bit.
  7. Add shredded cabbage. Mix well. Cover and cook for 30 seconds.
  8. Add salt and mix well. Cook for 1 minute uncovered.
  9. Potato Cabbage Fry is ready to serve.

TIPS :

  1. Do not add salt in the beginning as cabbage will shrink while cooking and salt imbalance can make recipe bitter.
  2. Cover and cook for faster cooking.
