Milk Fudge Recipe | Diwali Sweet

A perfect delight for a sweet tooth. A dessert recipe for special occasions and festival packed season. Made with few ingredients only.

PREPARATION TIME : 5 minutes 

COOKING TIME : 15 - 20 minutes


INGREDIENTS :

  • Milk powder - 3 cups
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 1/4 cup
  • Milk - 1 cup
  • Food color - 1/8 tsp
  • Almonds - 1/4 cup chopped
  • Pistachios - 1/4 cup chopped 


PROCEDURE : 

  1. In a pan on low heat add ghee and wait for it to melt completely.
  2. Add milk and let it turn lukewarm.
  3. Add milk powder and keep stirring till dissolved completely and no lumps are formed.
  4. Add sugar and dissolve. Keep stirring till the mixture thickens and starts leaving pan.
  5. Transfer half of the mixture in a bowl. In the remaining half add food color. Keep stirring till mixed uniformly.
  6. Line a square pan with parchment paper. Transfer the colored mixture and spread uniformly in desired thickness. Top with remaining mixture and  spread uniformly.
  7. Sprinkle chopped almonds and pistachios and press with spatula.
  8. Let it rest for 2 hours or completely set.
  9. Cut it into desired shapes.
  10. Milk Powder Burfi is ready to serve.


TIPS :

  1. Keep the flame low all the time to avoid milk burn.
  2. Keep stirring else lumps will start forming.
  3. Let it set completely before cutting.
